According to people familiar with the matter, Tesla plans to suspend production of some production lines in its Shanghai factory for about three weeks during the Chinese New Year in order to upgrade equipment and make full preparations for the production of the new Model Y. It is reported that the Model Y production line affected by the suspension will be shut down from January 22 to February 14, while another production line producing Model 3 will be shut down from January 26 to February 3. Through such a long suspension, Tesla can prepare for the increase in production of new models more efficiently. Model Y is one of Tesla's best-selling models. The company began accepting orders for the new model last week and is expected to start delivery in March.
