Hong Kong Microelectronics R&D Centre receives fast-track funding approval

At the urging of Sun Dong, director of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Bureau, the Legislative Council's Finance Committee quickly approved a grant of HK$2.83 billion to establish the Hong Kong Microelectronics R&D Center, which will be dedicated to the research and development of third-generation semiconductors.
