China considers selling TikTok's US business to Musk

China is considering selling TikTok's U.S. business to billionaire Elon Musk if it can't fend off a possible ban, according to people familiar with the matter. Although China would prefer TikTok to remain controlled by its parent company ByteDance, the company is seeking to respond to the TikTok ban by appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court. In one scenario, Musk's social media platform X would take over TikTok's U.S. business and operate it together.
