Samsung has reportedly invested approximately $116 billion in the entire 3nm project, but the company is still facing yield and energy efficiency issues. These issues have caused Google and Qualcomm to transfer orders to TSMC, while Samsung continues to seek solutions to improve the performance and reliability of its 3nm chips. Samsung's Exynos 2500 processor yield has improved, from single digits in the first quarter to just below 20%, but it is still far below mass production standards. Samsung Electronics' System LSI division is working to improve the second-generation 3nm GAA process yield, with the goal of increasing it to 60% by October this year.
