Northvolt battery factory construction status

Swedish battery manufacturer Northvolt is actively expanding its battery production capacity. The company has four battery factories under construction or in preparation. If all of these factories are completed as scheduled, Northvolt will have a power battery production capacity of 230GWh after 2026. These factories are located in Skellefteå, Sweden, Gothenburg, Sweden, Heide, Germany, and Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Among them, the first battery factory in Skellefteå, Sweden has been put into production, and the production capacity is planned to be expanded from 40GWh to 60GWh; the second "super factory" in Gothenburg, Sweden will be jointly built with Volvo, with a total investment of 30 billion Swedish kronor and an annual production capacity of 50GWh; the third super factory in Heide, Germany, started construction in March this year, with an investment of 600 million euros and a planned annual production capacity of 60GWh; the fourth super factory in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, named Northvolt Six, has an annual production capacity of 60GWh.
