Domestic sales of pure electric vehicles in Japan decline, BYD grows significantly

According to data, Japan's domestic sales of pure electric vehicles in 2024 will be 59,736, a decrease of 32.5% from the previous year, the first decline in four years. However, the import sales of pure electric vehicles from foreign manufacturers reached 24,198, an increase of 5.7% from the previous year, setting a new record for six consecutive years. Among them, BYD's sales increased by 53.7% to 2,223 units, surpassing Toyota's 2,038 units for the first time.
