AI chip startup Etched raises $120 million to challenge Nvidia AI chip design

AI chip startup Etched announced that it has successfully raised $120 million in funding to challenge Nvidia in AI chip design. Etched is developing a new chip called Sohu that focuses on processing the key part of AI processing: Transformer. The company said that by integrating the Transformer architecture into the chip, they are building the world's most powerful Transformer inference server. Etched also mentioned that this chip is the fastest Transformer chip ever.
