Etched is optimistic about the future of Transformer architecture

Etched is convinced that the Transformer architecture will become mainstream in the field of AI, so they have invested heavily in the development of the Sohu chip. This chip is designed for the Transformer architecture and is expected to be a huge success in the AI ​​market. Because it is optimized for the Transformer architecture, the Sohu chip is more efficient than Nvidia's GPU when processing AI tasks, thereby reducing the overall operating costs of data centers. Etched has partnered with TSMC to produce its Sohu chip using a 4nm process. In addition, the company has reached an agreement with top suppliers to ensure sufficient HBM and server supply to increase production capacity in the first year. Some early customers have booked tens of millions of dollars in hardware from Etched. This chip surpasses Nvidia's latest B200 GPU in AI large language model (LLM) inference performance, and its AI performance is 20 times that of H100.
