GAC Toyota releases new generation battery technology

GAC Toyota announced four new types of batteries at its Technology Open Day on June 28. It is expected that by 2026-2027, the company will launch a popular lithium iron phosphate battery with a range of more than 600 kilometers, a cost 40% lower than the current bZ4X, and a 10-80% charge in 30 minutes. In 2026, it will launch a performance lithium-ion battery with a range of more than 1,000 kilometers, a 20% cost reduction, and a 10-80% charge time of less than 20 minutes. It is expected that between 2027 and 2028, it will also launch a high-performance lithium-ion battery and an all-solid-state battery, with a range of 1,100 kilometers and more than 1,000 kilometers respectively, and a 10-80% charge time of less than 20 minutes.
