SAIC Volkswagen celebrates its 40th anniversary

Founded in 1984, SAIC Volkswagen is a Sino-German joint venture car company headquartered in Anting, Shanghai. Since its establishment, SAIC Volkswagen has established production bases in Nanjing, Yizheng, Urumqi, Ningbo, Changsha and other places. As one of the earliest joint venture car companies, SAIC-Volkswagen has achieved remarkable results in the past 40 years, including becoming the sales champion of domestic passenger car companies for four consecutive years from 2015 to 2018. However, in recent years, SAIC-Volkswagen has faced pressure on sales due to the impact of new forces and Chinese brands.
