Toyota subsidiary accused of forcing suppliers to keep old molds, faces compensation

Toyota Custom Development (TCD) has been accused of forcing about 50 suppliers to keep more than 650 molds and inspection instruments for old models despite no new orders, which could leave TCD facing tens of millions of yen in compensation. The regulator warned that TCD would have to pay compensation to subcontractors who stored its equipment for decades for free.
