Volkswagen joins dry coating technology bandwagon in search of cost reductions

PowerCo, a battery manufacturing subsidiary of Volkswagen, is planning to apply dry coating technology to large-scale production. The company's CEO said that hundreds of batteries have been produced on the test line using this technology, and plans to start large-scale production in 2027. Volkswagen believes that this technology can reduce energy consumption by 30%, thereby reducing the cost of each electric vehicle.
