German semiconductor equipment manufacturer AIXTRON announced preliminary results for the second quarter of 2024 on July 4. Benefiting from the promotion of SiC (silicon carbide) and GaN (gallium nitride) power semiconductor markets, the company's equipment orders performed well. In the second quarter, AIXTRON achieved a total order volume of 176 million euros, of which SiC/GaN equipment orders accounted for 58% and 29%, respectively. Despite the poor overall industry sentiment, the company's total revenue in the second quarter reached 132 million euros, slightly lower than 173 million euros in the same period last year, but in line with expectations. Preliminary operating profit was approximately 13 million euros, compared with 44.6 million euros in the same period last year, and the earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) margin was 10%.
