In June, the national passenger car sales volume decreased year-on-year, while new energy passenger cars grew against the trend.

According to the China Passenger Car Association, the total sales volume of passenger cars in China in June was 1.767 million, a year-on-year decrease of 6.7%. However, the sales volume of new energy passenger cars achieved a counter-trend growth, reaching 856,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 28.6% and a month-on-month increase of 6.4%. The cumulative sales volume from January to June was 9.839 million units, a year-on-year increase of 3.2%. In addition, the market penetration rate of new energy passenger cars reached 48.4%, setting a record high.
