Application of magnetic sensors in automobiles

171
In modern cars, magnetic sensors play a key role. For example, wheel speed information is essential for vehicle dynamic control systems (VDC), electronic stability programs (ESP), anti-lock braking systems (ABS), automatic transmission control systems, etc. Commonly used wheel speed sensors include magnetoelectric wheel speed sensors and Hall wheel speed sensors. There are two main types of magnetic sensor ICs: Hall sensors and magnetoresistive sensors. Hall sensors are based on the Hall effect and can detect the size and direction of the magnetic field. Magnetoresistive sensors are based on the magnetoresistive effect, which was discovered earlier than the Hall effect, but the concept of magnetoresistive sensors was first proposed in 1971.
