Qingtao (Kunshan) Energy Development Group Co., Ltd. was established in 2016 and is headquartered in Kunshan, Suzhou. It is a high-tech enterprise led by Nan Cewen, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a professor at Tsinghua University. It has taken the lead in realizing the industrialization of solid-state batteries and has built a large-scale mass production line for solid-state power lithium batteries. Qingtao Energy has applied for more than 1,000 national patents, half of which are invention patents, and more than 500 have been authorized. Qingtao Energy has successively obtained strategic investments from institutions such as BAIC, SAIC, GAC, Bank of China Investment and Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation. The company is currently valued at over 20 billion.
