SAIC explores building electric car factory in Spain

SAIC is discussing with the Spanish Ministry of Industry to build an electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Spain, mainly producing MG cars. It is expected to start production of the first car in the fourth quarter of 2027, and plans to establish a network of nearly 100 comprehensive service points covering the whole of Spain, as well as a logistics hub in Barcelona. SAIC said it has created more than 500 direct jobs and 1,000 indirect jobs in Spain.
