For driverless cars, does it mean that road testing is no longer necessary?

Qianfang Technology: The "Intelligent Connected Vehicle Road Test Management Specifications (Trial)" jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Transport has made detailed "definitions" for test vehicle standards, driving safety officer standards, road test application procedures, test specifications and accident handling. All domestic driverless technology companies and smart car brands need to conduct road tests and strictly follow the standard system. The test items include 14 tests such as recognition and response of traffic signs and markings, recognition and response of traffic lights, recognition and response of the driving status of the vehicle ahead, and recognition and response of obstacles. As of the end of 2020, the Beijing Intelligent Vehicle Industry Innovation Center, led by Qianfang Technology, has issued general road test licenses for 87 vehicles from 14 autonomous driving companies, with a total safe mileage of autonomous driving exceeding 2.21 million kilometers.
