Mercedes-Benz and Stellantis interested in Serbia lithium project

Mercedes-Benz and Stellantis are interested in participating in Rio Tinto's $2.4 billion Jadar lithium mine project in Serbia as partners in a battery joint venture, according to people familiar with the matter. The two companies are in talks with the Serbian government about investing in lithium processing and electric vehicle battery production and plan to sign a letter of intent on July 19.
