Stellantis recently filed a lawsuit against Spectra Premium Mobility Solutions Ltd., a Quebec auto parts supplier, in the U.S. Circuit Court of Oakland County. The reason is that Spectra threatened to stop supplying fuel tanks for Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid minivans to Stellantis' Windsor Assembly Plant due to failure to meet its price increase requirements, which may lead to production line shutdowns. Stellantis said that Spectra required it to increase prices by 12.5% from January 1, 2023, otherwise it would stop supplying parts. Stellantis warned that if disputes with suppliers lead to production shutdowns, it could trigger large-scale layoffs and economic losses.
