Turkey has recently made major adjustments to its policy towards Chinese electric vehicles. Initially, Turkey announced in March 2023 that it would impose an additional 40% tariff on electric vehicles imported from China, raising the total tariff to 50%. However, in July 2024, the Turkish government issued a new presidential decree, deciding not to impose additional taxes and fees on car imports within the scope of the investment incentive policy, but only a 10% tariff. This move is aimed at attracting Chinese companies to invest in Turkey and promote the development of the country's new energy vehicle manufacturing industry.
