Lexus builds wholly-owned factory in China, focusing on R&D and production of pure electric vehicles

With the support of the Shanghai Municipal Government, Toyota Motor Corporation has decided to establish a research and development and production company for Lexus pure electric vehicles and batteries in Jinshan District, Shanghai. It is expected to start production in 2027, mainly focusing on the research and development and production of pure electric vehicles that meet the needs of Chinese users.
