Chery subsidiary builds manufacturing plant in Vietnam

Omoda & Jaecoo, a subsidiary of Chinese automaker Chery, has partnered with Vietnamese conglomerate Geleximco to build a manufacturing plant in the Hung Phu Industrial Zone in Thai Binh province. Construction of the $800 million plant is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of this year, with the first phase expected to be completed in early 2026. Once fully operational, the plant will have an annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles.
