Japanese foundry Rapidus to start trial production of 2nm chips in April 2025

Rapidus, a Japanese public-private partnership foundry, is building a 2-nanometer factory in Hokkaido, with the goal of trial production in April 2025 and mass production in 2027. Rapidus President Atsushi Koike recently said that the construction of the factory is progressing smoothly and trial production of 2 nanometers will begin on April 1.
