Wolfspeed to invest $5 billion in new silicon carbide factory

Wolfspeed is building its second 8-inch silicon carbide plant, the Chatham Materials Plant, which is expected to be put into production in June this year. The total investment in this new plant is US$5 billion, and it mainly produces 8-inch silicon carbide ingots and substrates. Wolfspeed expects to take over the plant in full by March this year and start production after the construction team completes the finishing work.
