According to the latest reports, China's automobile exports reached 5.85 million units in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 19%, ranking first in the world for two consecutive years. In contrast, Japan's automobile exports fell by 5% to 4.21 million units. This is the first time since 2008 that Japan's automobile exports have failed to exceed 5 million units. On the other hand, BYD, China's largest automaker, saw its electric vehicle sales in Japan increase by 54% year-on-year in 2024, surpassing Toyota's electric vehicle sales for the first time. It is expected that in 2025, China's electric vehicle brand "ZEKR" will also enter the Japanese market.
