Due to lower-than-expected market demand for electric vehicles, French automotive parts supplier OPmobility revealed that several automakers are restarting their development plans for internal combustion engine vehicles. According to Laurent Favre, CEO of OPmobility, the number of electric vehicles produced by manufacturers in the United States, Germany and France is 40% to 45% lower than originally expected. This huge gap forces automakers and parts suppliers to constantly adjust production capacity and cooperation strategies to adapt to the actual needs of the market. Favre pointed out that buyers postponed purchases due to regulatory uncertainty and high electric vehicle prices, which is the main reason for the lower-than-expected demand. This trend has prompted many European and American automakers to slow down the pace of electrification and reconsider the market potential of internal combustion engine vehicles.
