Intel appoints new chief global operating officer

Intel has appointed Dr. Naga Chandrasekaran as its new chief global operating officer, who will also serve as executive vice president and general manager of Intel's foundry manufacturing and supply chain organization. He will take office on August 12 and will oversee Intel's foundry global manufacturing operations and strategic planning, including wafer fab sorting manufacturing, assembly test manufacturing, enterprise quality assurance and supply chain management. In essence, he will be responsible for all of Intel's manufacturing operations, including manufacturing processors for Intel itself and manufacturing chips for Intel's customers.
