LG Energy Solution announced that the 4680 battery production line will start mass production in late Q3 or Q4 2024

LG Energy Solution (LGES), Tesla's main battery supplier, recently announced the latest progress of its 4680 battery project. According to the company, the 4680 battery production line at the Ochang plant in South Korea is expected to start mass production at the end of the third quarter or the fourth quarter of 2024. Noh In-hak, director of battery planning and management, said in LGES's second quarter 2024 conference call that although the company hopes to start production of 4680 batteries as early as possible, it is expected to proceed as planned due to internal maintenance and coordination issues with customer schedules.
