Samsung and Sony adjust their strategies, bringing development opportunities to Chinese CMOS enterprises

Recently, a digital blogger revealed that Samsung's top management stated in an internal meeting that the strategic focus will shift to HBM in the next three years, CMOS research and development will be suspended, and HBM will be given priority in production lines. The same is true for Sony, the world's leading CMOS company. Sony's semiconductor division disclosed its capital expenditure plan for the next three years, and it is expected to invest approximately 650 billion yen (approximately 30.095 billion yuan) in the development of related projects during the period ending March 2027. Compared with the previous three-year cycle, the investment amount has been reduced by about 30%.
