The core team members of DeepSeek include many elites from well-known domestic universities. Among them, founder Liang Wenfeng graduated from Zhejiang University with a master's degree in information and electronic engineering. Gao Huazuo graduated from the Department of Physics of Peking University and made key innovations to the MLA architecture of DeepSeek-V2. Zeng Wangding is from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and has made important contributions to the innovation of the MLA architecture of DeepSeek-V2. Shao Zhihong is a doctoral student in the Tsinghua Interactive Artificial Intelligence (CoAI) research group and has participated in multiple projects. Zhu Qihao is a 2024 doctoral graduate of the Software Research Institute of the School of Computer Science and Technology of Peking University, and led the development of DeepSeek-Coder-V1. Wang Bingxuan is a master of Yuanpei College of Peking University. After joining DeepSeek, he participated in a series of important work starting from DeepSeek LLM v1. Zhao Chenggang is a student at Tsinghua University. He has won the World University Supercomputing Competition three times and works as a training and reasoning infrastructure engineer at DeepSeek. Wu Ya graduated with a doctorate from Beihang University in 2019 and leads the post-training team of DeepSeek. Guo Daya is a 2023 doctoral student jointly trained by Sun Yat-sen University and MSRA. He joined DeepSeek in July 2024 and participated in the work of mathematics and code large models. Luo Fuli graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science from Beijing Normal University and a master's degree in computational linguistics from Peking University. She worked at Alibaba Damo Academy and joined DeepSeek in 2022 to participate in the research and development of DeepSeek-V2.
