According to insiders, the U.S. Department of Commerce is considering proposing a new rule in the coming weeks to ban the use of Chinese software in self-driving and connected cars manufactured in China. This new rule may affect all cars that reach Level 3 and above in autonomous driving, and will also prevent self-driving cars produced by Chinese companies from being tested on U.S. roads. In addition, the U.S. government also plans to propose a ban on vehicles equipped with modules with advanced wireless communication capabilities developed by China from driving on U.S. roads.
