According to industry forecasts, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix's NAND production in the first quarter of this year will be more than 10% lower than in the second half of last year. This is mainly due to their ongoing technology migration. Samsung Electronics is replacing the 128-layer products that currently account for the majority of its production with the latest products such as 176-layer, 238-layer, and 286-layer. SK Hynix is also mass-producing the latest 238-layer and 321-layer products at its NAND production base, Cheongju Plant.
