Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is a general term for global satellite navigation, including China's Beidou Navigation Satellite System (BDS), the United States' Global Positioning System (GPS), Russia's GLONASS, the European Union's Galileo Satellite Navigation System (GALILEO) and Japan's Zenith Satellite Navigation System. These systems provide ground users with position, speed and time information by transmitting electromagnetic waves to the earth.
