Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. announced that they will recall 1,683,627 Model S, Model X, Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles produced between October 15, 2020 and July 17, 2024. After unlocking the front trunk lid, these vehicles may not be able to detect that the front trunk lid is unlocked, causing the front trunk lid to be opened while driving, affecting the driver's field of vision and increasing the risk of collision. Tesla will use OTA technology to upgrade the software for vehicles within the recall scope for free, and will repair vehicles with faulty front trunk latches for free.
