SAIC Motors plans to establish Latin American hub in Mexico

MG Motors, a subsidiary of SAIC Motors, announced plans to set up a Latin American hub in Mexico, including a car manufacturing plant and a research and development center. The move aims to use local resources for car production while obtaining in-depth market intelligence for the Latin American market. In addition, MG also plans to introduce its high-end brand IM (Intelligent Auto) to Mexico. According to SAIC Motors' plan, in 2024, Intelligent Auto L7 and LS7 will enter the Mexican, Middle Eastern, South American and Southeast Asian markets; in 2025, LS6 and L6 will enter the global market. MG has factories in China, Thailand and India, and has previously expressed its intention to open a factory in Europe.
