In order to win the favor of US President Trump, Stellantis announced that it will restart its plant in Belvidere, Illinois, and start producing a new medium-sized truck in 2027. This decision is expected to bring jobs to approximately 1,500 UAW employees. In addition, Stellantis also promised to produce the next-generation Dodge Durango SUV at its assembly plant in Detroit, USA, and invest in the Toledo plant in Ohio to increase the production capacity of Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator models. At the same time, the company will also provide operating funds for the Kokomo plant in Indiana to produce the new GMET4 EVO engine.
