SAIC Volkswagen launches new model ID.3, intensifying competition with BYD Dolphin

On July 31, 2025, SAIC Volkswagen launched the new ID.3, priced at 129,888 to 147,888 yuan, and the limited-time transaction price was 119,888 to 136,888 yuan. This new model has been greatly upgraded in terms of smart cabin and smart driving, including the central control screen upgraded from 10 inches to 12.9 inches, the car system upgraded to ID OS 5.0, and the iFlytek voice recognition solution. The new ID.3 is equipped with at least one millimeter-wave radar as standard in terms of smart driving, supports full-speed ACC function, and the high-end version supports LCC function and remote parking function. In addition, the minimum turning radius of the new ID.3 is only 4.7 meters, which is better than the 5.25 meters of BYD Dolphin. In terms of batteries, the new ID.3 is equipped with a 52.8-degree Ningde era ternary lithium battery, which is higher than the 44.9-degree blade battery of BYD Dolphin.
