Nissan plans to purchase batteries from South Korean battery maker SK on for electric vehicles in the U.S. market starting in 2028. SK on will supply 20 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electric vehicle batteries worth 2.5 trillion won (about $1.7 billion) to Nissan's U.S. auto plants, which is enough to power about 300,000 standard electric vehicles. The two companies are currently adjusting the details of the contract.
