BYD recalls 6,843 Formula Leopard 5 plug-in hybrid vehicles

BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. has decided to recall some Formula Leopard 5 plug-in hybrid vehicles produced between October 16, 2023 and February 1, 2024, totaling 6,843 vehicles, starting from January 24, 2025. Due to manufacturing reasons, the bolts of the internal electrical connectors of the integrated dual-motor controller of some vehicles within the scope of this recall may not be tightened, causing the bolt connection points to loosen and arc during vehicle use. In extreme cases, it may cause smoke and fire, posing a safety hazard.
