German new energy vehicle sales decline, Tesla Model Y becomes the best-selling BEV in July

According to the latest data, the market share of new energy vehicles in Germany fell to 19.1% in July, down from 25.9% in the same period last year. The sales of pure electric vehicles (BEV) fell to 12.9%, while the sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) were 6.2%. The total car sales in July were 238,263 units, a year-on-year decrease of 2%, and a decrease of about 23% from the average sales in 2017-2019. Among them, Tesla Model Y became the best-selling BEV in July, with 1,926 units sold.
