Türkiye's automotive industry is growing rapidly but is import-dependent

Although Turkey's automotive industry is one of its important industries and has established a mature automotive industry chain, its production and sales volume exceeded 1 million vehicles between January and November 2024, of which about 70% of sales depended on imports. In order to change this situation, Turkey plans to build a lithium battery production scale of 80GWh by 2030 and has launched a $30 billion incentive plan to attract corporate investment.
