Intel recently announced plans to cut 15% of its global workforce in order to cut costs and improve sluggish profitability. In Ireland, the chipmaker offered a voluntary resignation package of up to 500,000 euros to employees at its Leixlip plant. The proposal was sent to employees last week and asked them to submit their voluntary resignation applications by August 23.
