In 2017, Renesas Electronics acquired Intersil, the world's fifth largest power chip company. After acquiring Intersil in the United States, Renesas obtained a complete BMS solution. In 2019, Renesas spent US$6.7 billion to acquire IDT, a well-known analog-digital hybrid chip company. IDT is a supplier of analog hybrid chips including sensors, interconnection and wireless power. After completing the acquisition of Dialog in 2021, Renesas has a richer product matrix, including analog, power, embedded processing, and connectivity, covering more market areas, and has become a truly global and diversified semiconductor company. In 2021, Renesas acquired Celeno for US$315 million. Celeno is headquartered in Israel and mainly provides a wide range of wireless communication solutions, including advanced Wi-Fi chipsets and software solutions. In 2022, Renesas Electronics completed the acquisition of India's Steradian, a 4D imaging radar solution provider. In 2022, Renesas also completed the acquisition of Reality AI. Headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, USA, Reality AI provides embedded AI and TinyML solutions for advanced non-vision sensors in automotive, industrial, and consumer products.
