Renesas Electronics Automotive Segment Operating Revenue

According to the company's latest financial report, in fiscal year 2023, Renesas Electronics' revenue was 146.94 billion yen, about US$9.8 billion, and its operating profit was 390.8 billion yen, about US$2.6 billion. In terms of the automotive business, the company's automotive business revenue increased by 7.8% year-on-year in 2023. In the fourth quarter alone, 4Q23 revenue was JPY362bn, a year-on-year/quarter-on-quarter decrease of -7.5/-4.6%. By business, the automotive business achieved revenue of JPY181bn, a year-on-year/quarter-on-quarter increase of +6.8/+2.7%; the industrial/infrastructure/IoT sector achieved revenue of JPY179bn, a year-on-year/quarter-on-quarter decrease of -18.4/-11%, reflecting weak global industrial demand. Renesas Electronics revealed that to date, the average annual shipments of Renesas' full MCU in recent years have exceeded 3.5 billion, of which about 50% are used in the automotive field, and the rest are used in industries, the Internet of Things, data centers, and communications infrastructure.
