US battery maker Enovix plans to build its first high-volume manufacturing plant in Malaysia

US battery manufacturer Enovix announced that it will set up its first high-volume manufacturing plant (Fab2) in Malaysia, with plans to invest US$1.2 billion over the next 15 years. The Fab2 plant will focus on producing high-energy density batteries, mainly used in consumer electronic devices such as smartphones, Internet of Things (IoT) devices and laptops.
