Toyota abandons hydrogen powertrain, believing it will not be popular in the passenger car market

Toyota Motors recently expressed doubts about the future development of hydrogen power systems, believing that it is difficult to popularize them in the passenger car market. Although hydrogen power systems have their advantages, such as the high energy density of liquid hydrogen, there are also many problems in practical applications, such as the difficulty in storing liquid hydrogen, which needs to be kept in a low-temperature environment of minus 253 degrees Celsius, and the high failure rate of the fuel pump of liquid hydrogen internal combustion engines. These problems make the promotion of hydrogen power systems in the passenger car market complicated.
