US chipmaker ON Semiconductor has chosen the Czech town of Roznov for its new $2 billion manufacturing center. It will be the largest investment by a foreign company in the Czech Republic in 30 years. ON Semiconductor will expand an existing plant to produce chips for the electric vehicle and renewable energy industries and has signed a contract with Volkswagen.
