China's auto sales increased by 10.6% in December 2024, with BYD, Tesla and other brands performing well

According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China's automobile sales reached 3.489 million units in December 2024, a year-on-year increase of 10.6% and a month-on-month increase of 5.2%. The cumulative sales for the whole year were 31.427 million units, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%. Among them, passenger car sales were 369,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 1.3% and a month-on-month increase of 17.1%; commercial vehicle sales were 369,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 1.3% and a month-on-month increase of 17.1%. Among the major automobile manufacturers, BYD, Chery Automobile, Geely Automobile, Changan, FAW-Volkswagen, SAIC Volkswagen, Great Wall Motors, Tesla, and SAIC-GM-Wuling all performed well in year-on-year sales growth.
