As memory chip giants such as SK Hynix, Micron, and Samsung shift their production capacity to produce high-bandwidth memory (HBM) for AI needs, the output of memory specifications such as DDR5 has dropped sharply. According to supply chain information, SK Hynix has notified manufacturers to increase DDR5 prices by 15% to 20%, and it is expected that Samsung, Micron, etc. will also follow suit. To meet customer demand, SK Hynix will transfer more than 20% of the existing DRAM production line capacity to produce HBM, and Samsung will also transfer about 30% of the existing total DRAM production capacity to produce HBM.
